oh and about digital photography in concerts. in concerts it is often dark. this means that you are probably going to have to use iso 400 film in order to get an image. (iso 400 takes in light more than iso100 or less). when you put a digital camera on iso400 (replication of course -- not the real film rolls) it creates images with high grain. meaning that the images have a bunch of little colorful dots everywhere. it looks really bad. a regular 35mm film camera at iso400 will shoot with less grain. using a digital camera might not be a good idea for concert photography.
thanks for the suggestions...i may have it easy for these shows, though, because the june 18 show is in the afternoon on an outdoor stage, so the sun's out for natural light. then, the show june 20 (aren't i a lucky girl? my favorite band in town for TWO shows in one week!) is outdoors also, at park tavern, so i'm hoping it will be an early evening show for lighting. if not, then it will definitely be traditional performance lighting, spotlights, etc.
